Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary observed in State

Sadhbhavana pledge administered

CHENNAI: Sadhbhavana Day, marking the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, was observed in the State on Friday.

The Public Works Minister, O. Paneerselvam, administered the Sadhbhavana pledge to the Government employees at the Secretariat.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Ministers, Legislators and Chief Secretary were present.

At Sriperumbudur

More than 300 youths from the southern States gathered at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, on Friday to observe Sadbhavana Diwas.

Youth clubs

They were drawn from youth clubs affiliated to the Nehru Yuva Kendra of the Union Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry.

The delegates were administered the Sadbhavana Day pledge by the Institute Director, G. Rajasekhran.

S. Kulandaiswamy, secretary, Gandhi Peace Foundation, Chennai, inaugurated.
