PWG naxals asked to give up violence

HYDERABAD, JAN. 20. The Committee of Concerned Citizens, which took the initiative for a dialogue between the Government and the People's War Group to end violence in north Telangana, has welcomed the PWG's offer of unconditional talks.

It welcomed the Home Minister, T. Devender Goud's statement, that the Government would consider the proposal of talks.

The CCC requested the PWG to announce categorically that it will not resort to any violence during the next three months as mentioned in its open letter to the PWG. S. R. Sankaran, Convenor, said they would appeal to political parties, public and democratic forces to help the process for dialogue in the larger interests of people.
