Project to motivate reading habit

The Sunbeam Schools, Vellore, a group of private schools run by Gandhi Education Trust has in association with Kizhakku Padhippagam, a Chennai-based book publishing company, launched ‘Gnanadeepam,’ a project aimed at motivating students of government schools to visit the library and read books.

W.I. Davaram, president, Tamil Nadu Athletic Federation and former Director-General of Police, inaugurated the project by handing over the first instalment of books to Ananda Naidu, Headmaster of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Katpadi, one of the two beneficiary schools under the project at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Sunbeam Schools at Mettukkulam near Katpadi on Friday.
