Implement Government Order withdrawing CET, students demand

Special Correspondent

CUDDALORE: The student wing of the Pattali Makkal Katchi has called for boycott of classes on July 12 to prevail upon the State Government to ensure that its order cancelling the entrance examination and improvement scheme for admission to professional courses is implemented.

In a statement here on Tuesday, the Panruti MLA, T. Velmurugan, said the student wing had embarked upon a district-wise campaign stating that the entrance examination was a stumbling block to pursue higher education.

Though the students were putting in their best to pass out of the Plus-Two level, they found it difficult to cross the hurdle of entrance examinations. Hence, this system was ruining the prospects of the poor students.
