Pattukottai girl is topper in Thanjavur dt.

THANJAVUR: U. Senbagalakshmi of Laurel Higher Secondary School at Pattukottai in the district came first by scoring 486 out of 500 marks in the Tenth Standard examinations held in April this year.

Senbagalakshmi, daughter of Ulaganathan, a retired assistant head master and a native of Adhirampattinam, said that she was happy to hear the news that she came first in the district.

"I never attended tuition. I was given the best coaching by my teachers and the periodical examinations conducted in the school helped me to score good marks," said Senbagalakshmi, who aspires to become a computer engineer.

Neethi Sindhya of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School at Thanjavur came second in the district by scoring 485.

Sindhya, daughter of Shanmugha Nathan, Assistant Executive Engineer of TWAD Board and Mrs. Arumaikannu, an Anaesthesiologist working at Thanjavur Medical College, wants to become a doctor like her mother.

Sudarvizhi of St. Joseph's Girls Higher Secondary School, came third in the district by scoring 484 out of 500.

According to P. Ramaraj, CEO and Swaminathan, DEO, Pattukottai education district, the pass percentage in the district was 76 per cent. Out of 13,035 boys who appeared in the examinations, 9,605 passed out registering 74 per cent. Out of 13,203 girls, 10,740 passed out registering 79 per cent.

In the Matriculation segment, R. Rajalakshmi of ARR Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Kumbakonam came first in the district scoring 1038 out of 1100 followed by N. Venkatesh of the same school who came second scoring 1036.

P.S. Jayanthi of Christ, the King Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kumbakonam got the third place by scoring 1032.
