Flay bishop's move to extend support to Kudankulam protestors

Parishioners of Tuticorin – Nazareth CSI Diocese expressed dissent over activities of Rt. Rev. J.A.D. Jebachandran, Bishop, and condemned his role in the administration. Citing his deeds as unsuitable of a clergyman, the parishioners of the Diocese registered their protest by staging hunger strike here on Monday.

Contravening the rules and regulations formulated by State and Central governments, lecturers were recruited at colleges under his maladministration.

Alleging that those with educational qualifications and eligible for recruitment to posts of lecturers against existing vacancies were not considered but on the contrary, recruitments were made for money.

Proper auditing was not executed to assess income and expenditure at regular intervals.

The parishioners on fast also strongly condemned the Bishop, along with other clergies, for having extended support to Kudankulam nuclear energy protesters against national interest.

The hunger strike was led by S. Dharmaraj, a parishioner.
