Panel visits women's college

For the purpose of assessment for re-accreditation

MADURAI: A six-member peer team from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) visited Sri Meenakshi Government College for Women here from March 16 to 18 for assessing re-accreditation.

The team was headed by P. Murali, former Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.

A press release from A. Jayalakshmi, Principal, said the autonomous college was already accredited with four stars and the current assessment was for re-accreditation.

The peer team visited various departments, hostel, administrative office and also the office of the Controller of Examinations.

Members interacted with students, parents, alumni members, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and various committees in the college.

Rajapalayam college

A peer team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council also visited Rajapalayam Rajus' College at Rajapalayam on March 13 and 14.

According to a press release, A.M. Pathan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, and Koshy Ninan, member, Principal, Bishop Moore College, Kerala, among others, comprised the team.

They examined the academic, research, extra-curricular activities such as National Service Scheme, National Cadet Corps and rural development activities of the college during its visit, the release added.
