New master plan for Jodhpur

JAIPUR, DEC. 22. The new master plan for Jodhpur - the second largest town in Rajasthan - will be released by the month-end, as the term of the first master plan is scheduled to end on December 31. The new master plan has laid special emphasis on the development of places relating to tourism and handicrafts.

The State Urban Development Minister, Mr. Shanti Dhariwal, discussed the new master plan's significant features with the Chief Minister, Mr. Ashok Gehlot, here on Friday and pointed out that it would remain in force till 2023.

Incidentally, Jodhpur has an added significance in the State because it is Mr. Gehlot's hometown.
