CHENNAI: Forty NCC cadets from A.M. Jain College, Meenambakkam, conducted a campaign against the use of tobacco and for the promotion of cleanliness in public places on Thursday at the entrances of the Tambaram railway station by carrying placards and distributing pamphlets.

One of the placards read "Smoking kills others." R. Dhilip Raj, NCC sergeant, said the campaign was part of the National Youth Day celebration. He added that the cadets wanted to spread the message about the evils of consuming tobacco in any form to the public, especially among the youth.
