Navy for no compromise on security

KOCHI, NOV. 29. The Indian Navy will not compromise on its aviation security even while striving for the economic growth and stability of the land.

Vice-Admiral S. C. S. Bangara, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, said here today that the Navy would not pose a hindrance to development. He was referring to the issue of setting up higher cranes at the Rajiv Gandhi Container Terminal of the Cochin Port Trust.

He said the indigenously-built Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) based at INS Garuda, the air wing of the Indian Navy, were currently undergoing trials before their operational deployment.

The trials for the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) version of ALH are in progress at INS Garuda, he said.
