Namakkal records 81.7 per cent pass

NAMAKKAL: The district has recorded a pass percentage of 81.7 in the SSLC/Matriculation public examinations this year, an increase of 0.41 per cent against last year's.

Of the 15,665 who appeared, 12,799 students came out successful.

Three Government schools, two aided schools and five private schools in State board and 22 matriculation school showed cent percent results.

The top slot - with 487 marks out of 500 - in the district was shared by K. Jothi of Government Higher Secondary School, Paramathi Velur, and N. Narmatha of Vithyaa Vikas Girls HSS, Varahuranpatti, (Tamil - 95, English - 98, Maths - 99, Science - 99 and Social Science - 96). A. Priyadhasini of Government HSS, Kandampalayam secured the first among Government schools.
