CHENNAI: The Hindu Munnani on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

In a statement here, Rama Gopalan, Munnani organiser, said the attack only "betrayed the designs of anti-Hindu forces to destroy the evidence on the existence of Ramajanam bhoomi."

The organiser of the Federation of Hindu Organisations, Vinayagar V. Murali, also condemned the attack, describing it as a "challenge to the country's self-respect."

The Pattali Makkal Katchi criticised the Vishwa Hindu Parishad for attempting to whip up religious sentiments over the incident.

In a statement, S. Ramadoss, the party founder, said it was not proper on the part of Hinduvta leaders to say that the Centre was responsible for the incident. At this juncture, the focus should be on monitoring and curbing the activities of the terrorists.
