MoU signed to harness data analytics across govt. departments

The Indian Institute of Management- Tiruchi (IIMT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA) to harness the potential of data analytics across government departments.

The MoU was signed recently in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palaniswami and Minister of Information Technology M. Manikandan at the Secretariat in Chennai.

Commenting on the MoU, TNeGA CEO Santosh K. Misra said the collaboration seeks to promote research in the domain of government data analytics, facilitating training of senior and middle level executives on data analytics and emerging technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and others.

“The Centre for Applied Research in Data Science (CARDS) – a joint initiative of IIMT and TNeGA will boost a smart decision making for the welfare of multiple stakeholders of the Government of Tamil Nadu and will enhance data driven decision-making across Tamil Nadu government departments,” said Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIMT, in a press release. “Through this collaboration, we will support TN government departments on various challenges related to data analytics and emerging technologies,” said Sujeet K. Sharma, Professor, IIMT.
