More amenities for Govt. staff

Agartala July 3. The Tripura Government has announced certain service facilities for its employees and increased pension to fixed labourers serving in four departments.

The State Information Minister, Jitendra Chowdhury, said one eligible member of a Government employee's family would be given a job in the event of the employee being physically disabled completely in a mishap while on duty or out of duty.

This facility was available till now only after the death of the employee in die-in-harness category. The Cabinet also approved a proposal for increasing the pension of fixed labourers from Rs. 100 to Rs. 400 a month. This would benefit about 2,000 persons fixed labourers employed in the departments of Forest, Agriculture, Animal Resources and Industry and Commerce.

Another decision taken was to introduce specific syllabus in Joint Entrance Examinations for higher studies.

There was no specific syllabus till now.
