Modern parcel office opened

The Salem Railway Division has opened a modern parcel office at the Salem Railway Junction.

The parcel office would have cloak room, storage room, separate inward and outward sections and weighing section. The office is connected to platform No. 1 and to other platforms through trolley path.

The office has an approach road from the main junction road to enable the people to deposit the parcels without any difficulty.

A couple of senior most staff of Salem Railway Junction – Selvakumar, chief parcel supervisor and N. Vasudevan, chief commercial clerk, declared open the new parcel office, in the presence of U. Subba Rao, Divisional Railway Manager and A. Annadurai, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Subba Rao said that Salem division decided to construct a modern parcel office due to increase in parcel trend.
