MAYILADUTHURAI: "I do not want to make any comment on the report submitted by the advisory committee on "Synergy in Energy," said Mani Shankar Aiyar, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, at Memathur near here on Wednesday.

When a reporter asked for his reaction to the report submitted by the panel disfavouring merger of oil PSUs, Mr. Aiyar said: "I did not go through the report. The experts in my Ministry will study the report."

When asked about the proposed indefinite strike by petroleum dealers from July 18, Mr. Aiyar said he would hold talks with them on July 17 and find an amicable settlement. "I am not afraid of their threats."

On the use of ethanol in petrol as being done in Brazil, the Minister said it had to be studied in detail in India. However, he had discussed the issue with the Indian Sugar Mills Association.
