Madurai school makes it to State meet

A project done by students of Palkalainagar Middle School near Madurai Kamaraj University was one among the 16 projects selected for a State-level Science Congress.

The Tamil Nadu Science Forum organised a district-level National Children’s Science Congress event at NMS Vellaichamy Nadar. College on November 3 with the support of National Council for Science and Technology Communication in the Department of Science and Technology.

According to a press release from the university, the project displayed by Palkalainagar Middle School students on ‘Zero energy preservation box,’ done under the guidance of teacher K. Malarselvi, was selected for the State-level event to be held in Coimbatore from November 30 to December 2. The project was done by students V. Surya, D. Gomathi, S. Murugavalli, P. Veera Lakshmi and K. Amaravathi.

Totally, 150 projects were presented on the theme ‘Energy, explore, harness and conceive,’ of which 16 were selected for the next round. Kalyani Mathivanan, Vice-Chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University, and Registrar K. Pitchumani congratulated the students and their guide teacher.
