Madurai Central MLA P.T.R. Palanivel Thiagarajan inaugurated two paver block roads – one each in Villangudi and Aarapalayam – on Sunday. The road works, costing Rs. 7.6 lakh and Rs. 1.3 lakh respectively, were executed with the MLA Constituency Development Fund.

He said people, particularly the downtrodden, were unaware of the several healthcare initiatives available to them for no cost. In order to raise awareness and maximise treatment, the MLA has planned to host many eye camps in his constituency. The first camp was conducted on July 1.

“Many people are unaware of the government schemes available to them. Most of them avoid going to doctors or the government hospital,” he said.

He said the Corporation had promised to cover the partially closed or open drainages in Ellis Nagar’s Bodi Line area.
