‘Join hands to root out corruption’

Udhagamandalam: All must join hands to root out corruption, said the Project Director, Hill Area Development Programme (HADP), C. Samayamoorthy, while participating in the valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Week at the Hindustan Photo Films (HPF) near here on Monday.

Regretting that corruption was now a global problem, he said that though ridding the world of the menace was a tall order, one must firmly believe that it can be tackled. The mistakes committed by some affected the entire society.

The youth should be made aware of the ill effects of corruption.

Stating that bribes should be eschewed to lead a peaceful life, he said that Government employees should ensure that they worked for their wages.

The Director (Finance), HPF, P. Jagadeeswaran, presided. The Chief Vigilance Officer, Anil Kumar, also spoke.

The Assistant Manager, Vigilance, N. Mahilvaganan, welcomed the gathering.

The Assistant Manager, Shanthi D. Lakshmi, proposed a vote of thanks.

Distribution of prizes by Mr. Samayamoorthy to students who had excelled in elocution competitions marked the occasion.
