‘Jamabandhi’ concludes in Kilvelur taluk

NAGAPATTINAM: The week-long ‘jamabandhi’ that began in Kilvelur taluk on May 2 concluded on Thursday. The village administrative officers in the taluk submitted the revenue accounts to Collector Tenkasi S. Jawahar, who conducted the ‘jamabandhi’ in the taluk.

Talking to media persons here on Thursday, he said that most of the VAOs had submitted the village accounts in time and a few VAOs had been instructed to complete the work within a week.

He pointed out that he had received 106 grievance petitions from the taluk during the week-long ‘jamabandhi’ of which orders were passed immediately on 55 petitions. Most of the petitioners sought for issue of family card, old age pension, patta transfer of land and seeking free land from the Government.

The Collector presented a cheque for Rs.One lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the family of one Arumugam of Keechankuppam near Nagapattinam who died of severe cold last year.
