‘ Library- our world’ programme held

Students who secured first place were selected to participate in the State-level events in Chennai



SALEM: K. Revathi, a Plus-Two student of Sri Sarada Vidhyalaya Higher Secondary school bagged the first place in the district- level elocution competition held under the ‘Library – Our World’ programme of Library department of Tamil Nadu government.

C. Gayathri of St. Mary’s Girls Higher Secondary School, Arisipalayam, came second, while R. Manjula from the same school won the third place, a press release from District Library Officer V. Matheswaran said.

Apart from elocution, the department also conducted essay writing and slogan writing competitions under the programme.

In essay writing, M. Sureshkumar of Koneripatti Government Higher Secondary School bagged the first place. K. Ramya Krishnan, a Class X student of Edapadi Government Girls Higher Secondary School, won the second place, while S. Priyanka of Bharathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thammampatti, secured the third place.

In the slogan writing event, P. Sri Swarna, a Class IX student from Sri Vidhya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Pethampatti, won the first place. V. Divya, a Plus-One student from Sri Sarada Vidhyalaya Higher Secondary School came second and K. Kesavan Sathriya of Periya Vadagampatti Government Higher secondary school secured the third place. Students who secured first place in these competitions were selected to participate in the State-level events to be held in Chennai on January 29.
