Valayapatti Kaashyap Naadhalaya Trust honours musicians

CHENNAI: As part of the inaugural function of Valayapatti Kaashyap Naadhalaya Music Festival, the Valayapatti Kaashyap Naadhalaya Trust presented awards to eminent musicians here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director of Ma Foi Management Consultants K.Pandiarajan said, “The uniqueness of Classical music with its own boundary, eternity, harmony and multiplicity has been consistently enriching our culture. Music festivals are a big contribution to our culture.”

M.A.Gowrishankar, Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Chennai, inaugurated the festival. Naadhalaya Sironmani Awards were conferred on Mridangam exponent T.K. Moorthy and Clarionet exponent A.K.C.Natarajan.

Madurai Somu Memorial Award was given to Suguna Purushothaman. Thavil Vidwan T.A.Kaliyamurthy got the Valayapatti Award. R.Thayumanavan was given the Konnakkol Pakkiriapillai Award.

Valayapatti Kaashyap Child Artiste Awards were conferred on N.Visveshwar and K.Pravin Kumar.

S. Sivasubramaniam and T.D.M.Ananthasubramaniam got the Valayapatti Kaashyap Child Artiste Scholarship.

Trustee of Naadhalaya Trust A.Venkatramani and Secretary of the trust S.Malarvannan participated.
