Say authorities at meeting with industry players

TIRUCHI: The Tiruchi Railway Divisional authorities convened a meeting with the cement industry here on Tuesday explaining the details of concessions and discounts offered by the railways.

Delegates from Dalmia Cements, Tamil Nadu Cements, Madras Cements, India Cements, Grasim Cements and Malabar Cements took part in the meeting. The Divisional Railway Manager, R.C. Jat, requested the cement industry to use railways to transport their product.

Various incentive schemes offered for freight loading such as incentive scheme for loading bagged consignments in BOXN wagons, volume growth incentive scheme for incremental traffic for long term, incentive scheme for traditional empty flow direction besides others such as mini rake, two point rake, multi point rake and graded freight concession were discussed.

The officials explained that 10 per cent discount would be given for incremental freight earnings up to Rs. 5 crore and below and 15 per cent for incremental earnings for over Rs. 5 crore.

The Senior Divisional Operational Manager, Balaji Arun Kumar, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, H.M. Dinesh, the Divisional Commercial Manager, A.P. Muthuramalingam, and other branch officers participated, a Southern Railway press release said.
