“Implement policy for street vendors”

TIRUCHI: The State Coordination Council of the National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) has urged the State government to implement the national policy for street vendors in Tamil Nadu.

At a meeting held here recently, with V. Maheswaran, Executive Committee member, in the chair, said the State government should issue identity cards and licences to all street vendors and organise credit for them as proposed in the national policy.

The meeting elected Maheswaran as President of the Tamil Nadu Coordination Council, R. Leelavathi as Vice-President and Chella. Chellakumar as Secretary.
