Thousands left without food and water in Wanni: MDMK

SIVAGANGA: The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) on Wednesday staged a demonstration here protesting against the State and Central governments for failing to pressurise the Sri Lankan government to stop the killing of innocent Tamils.

S. Sevanthiappan, district secretary, presided over it. State youth wing deputy secretary M. Karkannan, State advocate wing deputy secretary MSM. Asaithambi, district level office bearers K. Selvaraj, A. Balathandayutham, S. Sundar, Sivagangai town secretary G. Thangapandian, Sivagangai Municipal Councillors M. Natchiyappan and P. Saravankumar and others took part

The agitators said thousands of Tamils in Wanni area were left with food and water. It was important for the State and Central governments to take effective steps stop the war.

Ramanathapuram

A similar demonstration was held at Ramanathapuram demanding the Central Government to intervene in the Sri Lankan issue.

District secretary Nenmeni Jayaraman presided. The cadres raised slogans against the Central and State government for failing to act to save Tamils in Sri Lanka.
