JIPMER employees want posts filled

PONDICHERRY, AUGUST 1. The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research Hospital (JIPMER) employees union today asked the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Anbumani Ramadoss, demanding steps to fill vacancies in Groups C and D posts in the hospital.

A memorandum, which was distributed to media persons, also pleaded for creation of new casualty blocks.

The union also pleaded sought revival of the patient care allowance, stopped for a section of the employees. The union also brought to the notice of the Minister the vacancies existing in key posts in the institute. The system of assigning the posts of the Dean, Deputy Director (Administration) and Accounts Officer to other officials as additional charge was creating practical difficulty. The JIPMER Director, Subba Rao, took him round the departments and other sections and explained to him the health care facilities available in the outpatient wings and in the wards.

The Patali Makkal Katchi Parliamentary party leader, M. Ramadoss, accompanied the Minister. This was the first visit of Mr. Anbumani after becoming the Central Minister.
