`Introduce choice-based credit system'

TUTICORIN, MARCH 11. Colleges should introduce choice-based credit systems, apart from incorporating `add-on' and job-oriented courses into the curriculum, R. Rama Narayanan, Joint Director of Collegiate Education, has said.

Delivering the convocation address at Kamaraj College here on Thursday, he said the credit courses would open wider avenues for students in fetching jobs and scholarships.

"Core subject, supportive subject, self-study and non-departmental courses will constitute the choice-based credit systems."

He pointed out that for the success of any educational institution it needed disciplined students, committed teachers and sincere management.

Later, Mr. Rama Narayanan gave away degrees to 60 postgraduate and 165 undergraduate students at the function.

V. Ilango, president, and M. Ganesan, principal, Kamaraj College, spoke.
