Integral perspective needed to sustain Hindu dharma: Acharya

CHENNAI: The Sankaracharya of Kanchi Mutt, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, on Saturday called upon devotees to have an integral perspective to take forward the Hindu dharma and heritage.

Inaugurating Sri Subramanya Trisati archana and homam at Sankara Mutt in West Mambalam here, he said Vedas, cow protection and the theory of Karma were the basic tenets of Hinduism.

Alwars and Nayanmars had immensely contributed to the Tamil language and literature, besides inculcated high values in the people through the Bakti literature.
