Improve handwriting when young

The RC Higher Secondary School in the city has decided to give a thrust on improving the handwriting of school students in the city. With this view, the school will organise an English handwriting workshop for the upper primary class students in association with the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Students who cannot write quickly and legibly are at a disadvantage as they often fail to get the message across and end up scoring badly. A research conducted by the school proved that 73 per cent of the upper primary class students found it difficult to write well. The contributing factors could be incorrect letter formation or reversals, inconsistent size and height of the letters, poor alignment and irregular spacing between words and letters, the Headmaster of the school, Rev. R. Manokaradoss analyses.

The three-day workshop will begin at the school premises on December 12. The Students from upper primary classes could collect free applications from December 24 to 26.
