IIMT registers 34% jump in average stipend in summer placements

A 34% increase in average stipend has been registered in the summer placements of PGP (Post-Graduate Programme) 2018-19 batch of Indian Institute of Management - Tiruchi (IIMT).

The campus saw regular recruiters such as Avalon Consulting, Deloitte, Godrej, Saint Gobain, BPCL, TAFE, Yes Bank, L&T, Dabur, RBS, and GroupM and participation from new recruiters such as JP Morgan Chase, Shell, KPMG, Edelweiss, Reckitt Benckiser, Ultratech, Arcesium, HP, and HDFC offering coveted profiles across various domains.

A total of 78 companies participated in the placement process. They offered 168 roles across various domains of sales, marketing, finance, general management, strategy, consulting, operations and HR, a press release said.

The average stipend recorded at Rs. 83,321 with Rs. 3,20,000 as the highest domestic stipend. The average stipend of the top 50 percentile marked an increase of 35%. Also, there is a rise of 34% in average stipend, reinforcing IIM-Tiruchi’s position as one of the premier business schools in the country. Totally, 168 offers made by the companies were accepted by as many students opting for the summer placements in the 2018-20 batch with a strength 179 students.

The highest domestic stipend was Rs. 3,20,000, and the average stipend across all domains was Rs. 83,321. The average stipend of the top 10 percentile was Rs. 2,00,000. The average stipend of the top 25 percentile was Rs. 1,61,666.66, and the median stipend Rs. 80,000.

Ayon Chakraborty, Placement Chairperson, said the Summer Placement results depicts IIMT's growing relationships with the companies and their belief in the institution.

Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM, Tiruchi said the summer placement for the class of 2020 was a a testimony of thee academic rigour.
