The police are on the lookout for the culprits who have stolen a panchaloha idol from a temple near Sankarankovil railway station on Wednesday. They said the culprits, after breaking roof of the temple, stole a Vinayaga panchaloha idol and a bronze idol of Lord Shiva. When the priest Thangam came to the temple on Thursday, he found the idols missing. Based on a complaint from temple administrative committee president Sankara Ramalingam, the Sankarankovil Taluk police have registered a case.
