IA, Alliance Air flights rescheduled

CHENNAI MARCH 29. Indian Airlines and its subsidiary airline, Alliance Air (AA), have announced rescheduling of some of their flights on Friday and on March 30, and 31 due to ``operational reasons''.

According to an IA press release, on March 30, the service (IC-903) on the Bangalore-Delhi sector has been combined with flight (IC-539) on the Chennai-Delhi sector.

The services (IC-403/404) on the Delhi-Bangalore-Delhi sector and flight (IC-801/802) on the Delhi-Chennai-Delhi sector have been combined and will operate as the service (IC-403). Consequently, passengers on the Chennai-Bangalore AA flight (CD- 7587) will be accommodated on the flight (IC-980).

While the services (IC-801/802) on the Delhi-Chennai-Delhi sector has been cancelled on Friday, passengers on this flight have been accommodated on the services (IC-540/539).

The services (IC-931/932) on the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram- Chennai sector stands cancelled. Passengers to Thiruvananthapuram from Chennai will be accommodated on the service (IC-575) upto Kochi and arrangements have been made to transport the passengers by surface from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram.

The service (IC-972) has been combined with flight (IC-671) on the Mumbai-Chennai sector. Consequently, the service (IC-672) on the Chennai-Mumbai sector is combined with the flight (IC- 174).

The service (IC-945) on the Chennai-Hyderabad sector and the service (IC-939) on the Hyderabad-Delhi sector have been combined with the service IC-440.

The service (IC-947) on the Chennai- Hyderabad and service (IC-840) on the Hyderabad-Delhi sectors have been combined with flight (IC-539). Consequently, the service (IC-839) on the Delhi-Hyderabad sector and flight (IC- 948) on the Hyderabad-Chennai sector have been combined with the service (IC-540).

More flights on Chennai-Mumbai route

Increased flights on the Chennai-Mumbai route, addition of new international routes and more links to Dubai, besides augmenting capacity on the Colombo sector, are among the highlights of the Indian Airlines summer schedule coming into force on March 31.

An IA release said the fourth frequency on the Chennai-Mumbai-Chennai sector will be operated by an Airbus-320. The daily flight (IC-571) will depart from Chennai at 8.30 p.m. and reach Mumbai at 10.15 p.m. The service (IC-572) will leave Mumbai at 6 p.m. and arrive at Chennai at 7.45 p.m.

A daily Airbus-320 service will connect Chennai with Dubai via Hyderabad and there will be another twice-a-week link to Dubai from Chennai via Kozhikode.

Apart from a daily flight between Chennai and Muscat, the Chennai-Sharjah flight will be operated on the Chennai-Tiruchi-Thiruvananthapuram-Sharjah route.

More capacity is offered on the Chennai-Colombo-Chennai sector with the operation of a daily Airbus-300 leaving Chennai at 12.30 p.m.

On the Alliance Air services (subsidiary of the IA), the time of the Chennai-Port Blair sector has been advanced by 30 minutes. It will leave Chennai at 5.30 a.m. instead of 6 a.m.

The Chennai-Mangalore via Bangalore and Chennai-Coimbatore via Bangalore flights have been restored.

While the Chennai-Tirupati-Chennai AA flights have been withdrawn, there will be a twice-a-week flight operated by the IA linking Hyderabad and Tirupati.
