Heroin worth Rs. 5 crores seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city-based regional Intelligence Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has nabbed three persons on Monday from Attingal, near here, for allegedly possessing 5.30 kg of heroin worth about Rs.5 crores in the international market.

As many as 2.325 kg of heroin were recovered from Ashok of Tiruvadooor Sri Lankan Refugee Camp near Melur, Madurai, and Chellamuthu of Ramanad district from the false bottoms of two rexin bags carried by them at the KSRTC bus stand in Attingal on June 10 by the NCB officers, according to the Zonal Director of NCB, Shankar Jiwal,

The accused in their statements after the arrest, told the NCB that the drug was handed over by one Udaya of Sri Lanka and now residing in Attingal.
