Gurgaon or `ET'?

Sir, — Just near Delhi is the Haryana town of Gurgaon which is gaining importance in terms of industrial growth. Hence it has been declared to be part of National Capital Region.

But the name Gurgaon suggests that it is a village or backward area. Its actual name is Gurugaon as Mahabharat's Eklavya is believed to have worshipped Guru Dronacharya here.

To give the town a modern name, may I suggest that it be changed to ``ET'' or Eklavya Town! It will also, in a way, compensate to some extent the injustice meted to Eklavya by Dronacharya or history.
