Govt. keen on solution to problems posed by naxals

BANGALORE, JULY 24. The State Government today declared that it was keen on finding a solution to the problems posed by naxalites, and decided to take up measures on the lines of those adopted by the Andhra Pradesh Government to contain the menace.

At a presspersons the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, who holds the Home portfolio, said the Government had decided to invite People's War, a naxalite group, for talks. On the conclusion of the budget session, he would send an official team to the Malnad region to look into the living standards of the people there. Based on the facts presented in the report by the team, a decision would be taken to resolve the problem, he said. Representatives of various organisations today met Mr. Singh and urged him to invite People's War for talks.
