Staff Reporter

ERODE: Thousands of farmers from all over Erode and neighbouring districts are visiting the four-day Agri Fair, organised by the Agricultural Graduates Consultancy and Service Society, which began here on Friday.

The farmers were explained about the latest agriculture technologies and implements by the representatives of various firms and the organisers.

A mud pot decorated with grains (Nava Dhanyam) was the centre of attraction at the fair. Paddy, Cholam, Maize, Ragi, Cumbu, Samai, Thinai, Cotton, Groundnut, Gingelly, Sunflower, Beans, Chilies and Tomato seeds were pasted and kept in a stall.

A model of an electric fence to scare away wild animals in the hill areas also elicited enquiries from the visitors.

Loan mela

The president of the Agricultural Graduates Consultancy and Service Society, M. S. Duraisamy, said that they had arranged a loan mela at Chellayee Ammal Kalyana Mandapam on Sunday.
