Police recover 20 billhooks from them

The Tondiarpet police have rounded up a gang of suspects at gunpoint from a hideout in Tindivanam.

As per instructions of Commissioner of Police A.K. Viswanathan, Deputy Commissioners of Police intensified night patrolling across the city. Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Washermanpet Ravali Priya Gandhapuneni, a special team, while doing night patrolling, intercepted a youth on suspicion near Tondiarpet bridge.

The name of the youth was given as Lakshmanan, 26, who is wanted in criminal cases registered by the Tondiarpet police.

Based on his inputs, the special team rounded up three accomplices, including a juvenile, at Mel Malayanur in Tindivanam. The police recovered 20 billhooks from them.

The police said Lakshmanan, 26, Prabhu alias Prabhakaran, 25, and Govindaraj, 27, were remanded in judicial custody while the juvenile was lodged in the Special Observation Home. Lakhmanan and Prabhu were cited as accused in the murder, attempt to murder and robbery cases.
