Four MBBS students suspended for ragging

Four MBBS students of the Coimbatore Medical College (CMC) have been placed under suspension from the hostel for allegedly ragging a second-year student. The institute’s Dean B. Asokan said action was initiated against the third-year students on September 28 after an Anti-Ragging Committee conducted an inquiry into the matter. The victim, a male student, had reported the incident to his parents and lodged a complaint on the anti-ragging portal of the government. All four students were suspended from the hostel for a year. One among them was also suspended from the college for a month, the Dean said. The victim has not lodged a complaint with the police.
