December 24, 2012 12:00 am | Updated 05:04 am IST - COIMBATORE:

‘Flag 2013’, an event of Confederation of Indian Industry and Employability Bridge, was held at Jansons Institute of Technology here recently. Nearly 650 students from 16 colleges attended the recruitment drive.

The initiative focuses on improving hiring from tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Colleges, which became members of the initiative, were eligible to receive online training for their students on employability skills.

The first event to be held in Coimbatore was launched by R. Venugopal, Vice-President and Head, Robert Bosch, Coimbatore.

“Flag is an excellent model for tier-2 and tier-3 recruiting as it improves the efficiency by which companies meet students they want to hire. Companies get the flexibility and access to choose across a wide range of colleges without the burden of having to visit each campus individually,” he said.

The pilot event saw almost 140 candidates getting shortlisted for recruitment.
