VILLUPURAM, DEC. 27. Five members of a family, including three women, were killed when their car collided with a State Transport Corporation bus at Metthathoor village on the GST Road near Tirunavalur on Thursday.
Police said two persons died on the spot, while three others succumbed to injuries at a Government Hospital.
Police identified the dead as Valli (40), Paramasivam (48), Ananthayee (46), Pachamuthu (45) and Dhanalakshmi (40).
The victims were proceeding to Perambalur from Chennai to attend a funeral in Vadakkalur village when the mishap occurred, police said.
