Five more farmers commit suicide

KARIMNAGAR, MAY 27. Five more farmers committed suicide in various parts of the State today. Of them, three were from Karimnagar district, and one each from East Godavari and Nellore districts.

B. Sampath Reddy (33) of Devampalli village in Manakondur mandal, committed suicide by consuming pesticides following increasing debts and failure of crops. Another farmer, Raji Reddy (55), committed suicide in Vedira village of Ramadugu mandal.

In the third case, a farmer, Ch Lingaiah (45), committed suicide in the interior Adavisrirampur village of Mutharam mandal following the increasing debts.

Our Special Correspondent in Rajahmundry writes: A farmer, Kadali Ram Dass (55) of Gedellanka village in Mummidivaram mandal, committed suicide, following heavy debts. It is the first suicide by a farmer in East Godavari district. According to a report from Nellore, a farmer, Dega Madhava(25), committed suicide in Kondapuram mandal of Nellore district.
