Files gathering dust, says DMK leader

PONDICHERRY, MARCH 14. The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Pondicherry State unit convener, R.V. Janakiraman, today charged that a number of files on implementation of welfare measures were gathering dust in the Chief Secretariat's office. The reason: "delay in attending to the files" on the part of some officials.

Mr. Janakiraman said the Chief Minister should immediately dispose of the files. He said retention of some officials for years together was the main reason for the delay in the disposal of "key files."

He said the protests by employees of various departments were a fallout of the delay in addressing their grievances.
