Exams for J.A Institute students

CHENNAI Nov. 13. Following a Supreme Court direction, the Anna University today announced that semester examinations for students of Chennai-based J.A Institute of Engineering and Technology would be held from November 17 on the university campus itself.

The students of the college can collect their hall tickets on November 14 and 15 at the Controller of Examinations office, says a release from the registrar in-charge, R. Ramprabhu.

There is no change in the existing schedule. The students of the J.A Institute of Engineering and Technology can attend the examinations from November 17. The examinations, which they missed, will be conducted separately.

The students could not attend the college following a litigation after the university decided to launch disaffiliation proceedings. The college challenged the issue and a two-member Bench of the apex court ordered that the students studying in the institution be permitted to take the examinations and that the university could conduct the same in a manner it deemed fit. The normal semester examinations began on November 12.
