DIG inaugurates basketball court

Flood-lit facility also provided

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ramanathapuram range, Sandeep Mittal, on Wednesday inaugurated the basketball court constructed at the Armed Reserve Police ground.

As a mark of inauguration, he threw the ball to the hoop, receiving applause from the people. Later, he gave the basketball to the players for an exhibition match.

The court was sponsored and constructed by the Mohamed Sathak Trust for public cause.

Flood-lit facility was also provided at the court for enabling play in all weather conditions.

Collector V. Arun Roy, Anil Kumar Giri, Superintendent of Police, V. Balasundarakumar, District Judge, H.H. More, Commandant, Coast Guard, Mandapam, K. Balasubramaniam, District Revenue Officer, Hamid Abdul Quadir, Chairman, Mohamed Sathak Trust took part.
