Members of Muslim forums stage demonstrations

Tiruchi: Members of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam and Tamil Nadu Tauheed Jamath staged demonstrations in the city on Wednesday condemning the demolition of the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya.

While the demonstration organised by the TMMK was held in front of the Head Post Office, the one staged by the Tamil Nadu Tauheed Jamath was organised near Anna Statue in Chinthamani.

Pudukottai

Volunteers of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) staged a demonstration in front of the Post Office here on Wednesday demanding action against those responsible for the demolition of the Babri Masjid.

The State deputy secretary of the Kazhagam, Bakkar led the agitation.

Members of the Tauheed Jamath, led by the District president, Noor Mohamed, staged a similar agitation.

Perambalur

The cadres of TMMK staged a black flag demonstration in front of the BSNL office here on Wednesday . The protestors urged the Central government to initiate action against those accused in the demolition of the Babri Masjid.

A resolution adopted at the end of the agitation also demanded immediate re-construction of the masjid.

The Tauheed Jamath members, led by Shamshudeen, too staged an agitation.

Karur

About 25 cadres of TMMK, including women, staged a demonstration in front of the Taluk Office here demanding that the Government hand over the disputed land at Ayodhya to the Muslims to reconstruct the Babri Masjid.

They also demanded that those charge sheeted in the demolition case including the former Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, former Union Ministers Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti be brought to book.

The district organizer, TMMK, H. Mohammed Ismail, led the demonstration.
