Convoys hit Madurai roads

Madurai: All of a sudden, the Madurai Collectorate wore a festive look on Tuesday. Hundreds of vehicles entered the premises as the Local Administration Minister, M.K. Stalin, held a review meeting of development works in local bodies.

Apart from Government officials, hundreds of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party men thronged the premises to meet their leader. So many were the vehicles seen inside the campus that many regular visitors found not much space to park theirs.

Same was the case when the Minister went around the city to inspect certain civic works. The motorcade had at least a score of motorbikes speeding ahead of the Minister's car, which was followed by more than 30 vehicles. Even the Minister's advice to the cadres not to unnecessarily follow him did not help.
