CD on `Shastrani' released

CHENNAI, AUG. 14. Swami Gautamananda, president of the Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, released a compact disc titled `Shastrani,' containing works in Sanskrit. The CD was released on the occasion of the inauguration of the Sri Sarada Sabha Bhavan (Infosys Hall) at the Ramakrishna Mission Matriculation School in T. Nagar recently.

The CD contains eight Gitas including the Bhagavad Gita, Valmiki, Tulsidas and Adhyatma Ramayana, Patanjali Yoga Sutra and Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Brahma Sutras, 103 Upanishads, Manusmriti, Mahabharata, Bhagavat Purana and selected works of Shankaracharya.

"The actual price of this product is Rs. 1,000, but we are selling it for Rs. 50 as an offering on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Sarada Devi," he said.

Swami Gitananda, vice-president, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, gave his benediction on the occasion of the inauguration of the auditorium. Infosys bore 50 per cent of the cost of construction of the auditorium. The secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Swami Kamalananda and Sangamitra Sanyal, Principal of the Matriculation School participated.
