Bank realises Rs.12.76 lakhs through Lok Adalat

VILLUPURAM, JULY 24. In the Lok Adalat session held here recently at the behest of the Indian Bank, Villupuram main branch, loan amount to the tune of Rs 12.76 lakhs, as against the total advance of Rs 27.33 lakhs, was settled by as many as 57 borrowers.

The bank also realised cash amounting to Rs 1.48 lakhs on the occasion. While inaugurating the programme, the Principal District Judge, V.Ramamoorthy, called upon the banks to improve their recovery performance through the Lok Adalat.

The deputy general manager of the bank, Selvam Veeraraghavan, said similar sessions would be held in other parts of the district to recover the loans. In the Lok Adalat conducted by the retired sub-judges, S.Subramanian and M.Niyamullakhan, the additional sub-judges, M.Rajalakshmi and N.Kanniyan, and the additional district munsif, N.Vijayakant, participated.
