Balayogi's wife files nomination

AMALAPURAM MAY 9. G.Vijaya Kumari, widow of G.M.C.Balayogi, filed her nomination as the TDP candidate for the Amalapuram Lok Sabha seat on Thursday. She filed four sets of nomination at 11.15 at the municipal office where the Amalapuram RDO's office is temporarily housed.

MLAs Metla Satyanarayana and AVS Raju and the TDP district unit president, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, were the proposers. Besides Ministers Yenamala Ramakrishnudu, Chikkala Ramachandra Rao and Tummala Nageswara Rao who is in charge of the district, all the seven MLAs of Assembly segments--including Ayyaji Vema of the BJP-- that constitute the Amalapuram Lok Sabha segment were present. TDP MPs Vanga Gita and Mudragada Padmanabham were conspicuous by their absence. Solemnity marked the occasion.

Earlier, Ms. VIjaya Kumari went to the samadhi of her husband and offered prayers there.

Then the TDP leaders, including Ministers and MLAs, went in cars to the municipal office where she handed over four sets of nomination to the Returning Officer, G. K Dwivedi.
