CHENNAI, OCT. 11. The sky will be partly cloudy with a possibility of showers or thundershowers during Tuesday evening or night in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 34 degree Celsius and the minimum will be around 24 degrees Celsius.

On Monday Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam registered a maximum of 33 degree Celsius. Nungambakkam registered a minimum of 23.8 degrees Celsius and Meenambakkam recorded 24.2 degrees Celsius. The humidity was 78 per cent and 72 per cent at 8-30 p.m. on Monday.

Computer training

The National Association for the Blind, Tamil Nadu State branch, in collaboration with NIIT, is offering a three-and-half-a-month computer-training programme (MS Office 97 with Jaws 3.7- screen reading software) for visually impaired. Oratorical competition

Sardar Vallabbhai Patel Memorial Trust is organising oratorical competition on October 24 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, at 9 a.m. to mark 129th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel. The topics are Sardar Patel's greatest achievement in Indian History -- Integration of Indian States; Nehru as a socialist by conviction, Patel was a pragmatist and democrat and my vision of India in 2010 A.D.

Mathematics club launched

A mathematics club in the name of renowned mathematician `Ramanujam Mathematics Club' has been launched by Swami Vivekananda Matriculation School recently.

Inaugurating the club, T. Murugan, professor of mathematics, D.B. Jain College, explained easy methods in arithmetic such as division and addition and suggested that the active participation of students would transform the club into a resource centre.
